Mobbly Bayou
Wilderness Preserve

423 Lafayette Boulevard
Oldsmar, Florida

Located just beside Bicentennial Park the 225 acre Mobbly Bayou Wilderness Preserve is separated by a small lake.

Rounding this lake you will pass the "Bark Park," a large fenced-in open area for your pup to roam and investigate. This is a good place to park where you might enjoy the children's play area, take advantage of the restrooms and more.

There are murals covering the early sewage tanks in this area. It was back in 2005 that two artists, Mike Massaro and Carl Cowden, along with area art student volunteers, turned the former eyesores into something eye-pleasing that benefited the area. (See this Tampa Bay Times article) https://www.tampabay.com/archive/2012/04/27/not-just-another-brick-in-the-wall/

The tanks are now art pieces and lookout towers from which to view the area around the Preserve. There are two picnic pavilions nearby that may be reserved and are the perfect places from which to picnic and watch (or join!) the fun just zipping by!

Empower Adventures runs the zip lines and other guided offerings in the Park. We have added their link below. They term this “fun” - a two-hour, guided zip line “experience” on 3,000’ of cable!

You will find another picnic shelter in a picturesque spot near the floating fishing dock. There are also kayak/boat launch sites and paved trails. The trails connect to the ten mile Oldsmar Trail System and in turn link directly to ten other major Parks in Oldsmar.

Oldsmar is a happening place for Park and trail enthusiasts.

"Mobbly Bayou Wilderness Preserve is 225 pristine acres of land located in the southeastern section of the City of Oldsmar. This preserve features a canoe launch, playground, picnic shelters, beach area, exercise and hiking trails, restrooms, dog park, observation towers and fishing pier. Water activities are feasible because the bayou is in the middle of the property, which eventually leads to Tampa Bay. The preserve is within walking distance from nearby residential areas of the City. It affords the citizens of Oldsmar and visitors from around the area, as well as tourists to Pinellas County, the opportunity to see Florida as it was in the past." - Florida Communities Trust
